Tools and Hardware Reviews of Stanley Consumer Storage 014725R 25-Removable Compartment Professional Organizer

Customer Review: great organizer at a good price
Summary: 5 Stars

The distinguishing feature of this box is that the various small containers can be mixed and matched among several of these organizers. You can pack them now and rearrange them later. In addition, since the internal containers are removable, you can easily get to the 'small' things that are stored in them by dumping them on your table and restoring them to the container when done.
The quality of this box is superb, the latches are solid, and they stack neatly.

Customer Review: Great Organizer
Summary: 5 Stars

This storage system works great for all the odds and ends we had rolling around in our garage such as leftover nails and screws. I bought two more just like it. Saves me a ton of time since the lid is see-through and I don't have to guess what's in it.

Customer Review: More than just a tools organizer
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this product (not from Amazon, but from Lowes) to organize my Lego NXT set (the original NXT box is not very "durable") and it is great! The removable compartments are very handy as well. My only regret of buying it, is that the lid only opens up to a 90-100? angle. Other than that, its a great product!

Customer Review: Stable & sturdy.
Summary: 5 Stars

I won't say I'm as impressed as the other reviewers; I haven't found the rearrangable compartments to be some sort of miracle to hobbyists. Nor are there quite enough of the large ones. It's fine for storing resistors and other small bits, but when it comes to some of the larger things I need to store - i.e., drill bits, batteries - it starts to come up a bit short.

That said:

1) The compartments *are* very stable when the organizer is closed. Large plastic protrusions close at each corner of the compartments to hold them still.

2) The compartments reach the cover. Don't worry about anything spilling when it's held vertically.

3) It closes securely. I've had no spills, even after several accidental drops.

4) It's very light. The weight you carry is essentially the weight of what you put inside of it.

5) High-quality plastic: I expect this to last for ages.

Like I said, I'm not as overwhelmed as some other reviewers. On the whole, though, it was a good buy, and if I need more storage (for small items), this would be a sure purchase.

Customer Review: Not so great
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this case probably six months or so ago, and haven't used it since. I'd bought it in the hopes of using it as an odds and ends storage container for nails, screws, bolts, etc. It works well for the larger items, but the minute you hold it as intended, the smaller pieces fall through the cracks into the other bins, defeating the purpose of the separate bins.

While it's still a usable tote, I found the Plano brand (looks like a lunchbox) to be better suited for what I needed. The difference between the two being Plano's method of carrying the smaller bits. Rather than have the cartons tipped on their side, they're always laying flat. The stanley organizing case works against itself.

I'll probably end up using it for larger items that are still small enough to fit into the separate bins, but be advised that the case is not suited to carrying small nails and parts.
