I saw a friend using this vise on his video and he recommended it. And based on what I saw, I bought two because I am a custom walking cane carver and all my canes are carved out of one blank of wood -much like a rifle stock. The shaft of all my canes have a curve which makes it difficult to clamp without damage to the wood. The two vises is working out beautifully - they hold my cane at any angle, singly or in duet.
